Privacy PolicyPrivacy Policy
What we collect when you visit, ask for a quote or move with us, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Effective date: October 28, 2026. Last updated: October 28, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how Presto Logistics, Inc., doing business as Presto Moving (“Presto,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses and shares personal information through this website and when you contact us or use our moving and storage services. It also explains the rights California residents have under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”), and the California Online Privacy Protection Act.
The short version: we use your information to quote, plan and complete your move and to stay in touch with you about it. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and this website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Information We Collect
Information You Give Us
- Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and preferred way to reach you.
- Move details: pickup and destination addresses, move date and time, home size, access details such as stairs or elevators, the items you are moving (including specialty items), vehicles you want transported, and any notes you add.
- How you found us: for example a search engine, a friend or a realtor.
- Service records: estimates, inventories, bills of lading, delivery receipts, photos of your items taken for the move, and any claims or complaints.
- Payment information: when you pay for a move, payment details are handled by our payment processor. We do not keep full card numbers. If you pay by check or money order, we may photograph the front and back of it as a payment record; for card payments we may record a photo of the card with all but the last four digits hidden and, to prevent fraud, a photo of a government ID.
- Communications: emails, text messages and calls with our team. Calls may be recorded for quality and training where the law allows, and we will tell you when a call is recorded.
How the Website Forms Work
Our Get a Quote and Contact forms do not send your information to a server. When you press send, the form opens your own email app with your details filled in, addressed to Presto. We receive your information only if you send that email. You can also call us instead.
Information Collected Automatically
- Technical data: like any website, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. It is used to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Address suggestions: when you type a street address into a quote form, the text you type is sent to OpenStreetMap’s Photon search service and the U.S. Census Bureau’s address lookup so the form can suggest matching addresses. They receive the text you type and your IP address, under their own privacy policies. If you prefer, call us with your addresses instead.
- Cookies: this website does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not use tracking pixels or third-party analytics. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
How We Use Your Information
- To answer your questions, schedule a visual estimate and give you a written quote.
- To plan, perform and support your move, storage and any vehicle transport, including dispatch, delivery updates, billing and collecting payment.
- To handle claims, disputes and customer service.
- To send you messages about your move by phone, text or email, and, only if you agree, occasional offers.
- To keep our records and meet our legal duties, including federal and California rules for household goods movers.
- To protect our customers, staff and business, prevent fraud and keep this website secure.
How We Share Your Information
We share personal information only as needed to run our business and serve you:
- Service providers who work for us under contract, such as our moving software, phone and text messaging, email, website hosting and payment processing providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Partner carriers and agents who help perform part of your move, for example a long-distance segment, when that is part of your moving arrangement.
- Insurers, claim adjusters and arbitrators when needed to handle a claim or dispute about your move.
- Government agencies and others when the law requires it, including regulators such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services, or to protect rights and safety.
- A buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganized, subject to this policy.
No sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising, as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
Text Messages and Calls
If you give us your phone number, we may call or text you about your quote and your move. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help. Agreeing to receive marketing texts is never a condition of buying our services. We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or text-messaging opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Our text messaging providers receive your number only to deliver our messages. See the SMS/MMS section of our Terms of Use for more.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information for as long as we need it to provide our services and for our legitimate business purposes, and for as long as the law requires. Federal and California rules require movers to keep moving records such as estimates and bills of lading for set periods. Quote requests that do not turn into a move are kept only as long as useful for following up with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How We Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, such as limiting access to staff who need it and hiding card numbers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not email full card numbers or other highly sensitive information to us.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we have collected about you, including the categories, sources, purposes and the categories of third parties we share it with.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep by law or to finish a move you booked).
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of, but we honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out request.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We use sensitive information, such as ID or payment images, only for purposes the CCPA allows, such as completing and securing payments and preventing fraud, so this right does not require any action from you.
- Not be discriminated against for using any of these rights.
How to Make a Request
Email info@prestomoving.com or call us toll free at (800) 435-4035. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days (or tell you if we need up to 45 more days). To protect you, we will verify your identity, usually by matching details you give us, such as your name, phone number, email and move date, against our records. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of the agent’s authority and may ask you to confirm your identity directly.
Categories of Personal Information
In the past 12 months we have collected these CCPA categories, from you directly, from your devices when you use this website, and from partners who help with your move: identifiers (such as name, address, email, phone number and IP address); customer records (such as payment details and signatures); commercial information (such as the services you booked and paid for); internet activity (such as basic website request logs); geolocation in the form of the addresses you give us; audio and visual information (such as recorded calls and photos of items or payments); and sensitive personal information limited to government ID images and masked payment card images used to process and secure payments. We use and disclose each category for the business purposes described above and keep it as described in How Long We Keep Information.
Shine the Light
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 lets California residents ask which personal information a business shared with third parties for their direct marketing. We do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because this website does not track visitors across other websites or over time, it does not change its behavior in response to that signal. Third parties do not collect information about your online activity across other websites through this site.
Children
This website and our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to Other Websites
Our site links to other websites, such as FMCSA, the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services and Google reviews. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date, and if we make a significant change we will give a more prominent notice.
